Wow, this one is a journey!! 💚 Had so much fun with the delightfully unhinged game of channel-surfing hopscotch the story takes you on; the writing, art, voices, and sound design are all excellent, and tie together brilliantly into a disturbing and wonderful package. Phenomenal work to the whole team!

Great demo, definitely a must play if you enjoy horror visual novels! All of the artwork and voice acting really made this such a pleasure to play not to mention the story just being captivating and terrifying!

I did not expect The Big Comfy Couch going into this lol

The story is chaos (in a good way), and the visuals are disgusting (also in a good way).

Great job!

This was only the demo? I'm so excited to play this again when it's fully released. Phenominal work as always! You really do know how to seemingly take some of my worst fears ( walruses and spiders) and put them onto the screen.

Thank you! I plan to add more childhood fears to the TV channels.

I really loved this game! 10/10

Thank you so much for playing! I'm so glad you liked the game, especially the Looney Lou Show theme song. I watched a lot of TV reruns from the 90s to come up with it.

[Spoilers ahead]
Absolutely insane. I've never played a game like this, so well thought out. The story was impeccable. This game was probably the scariest work of art I've ever seen in my life, being that the monster was capitalism (doesn't get scarier than that tbh).

I loveeeed the artwoork and the UI was so good. It was like inter-dimensional cable had a baby with an actual lesson learned about the weight of corporate greed. Great work to the entire team. I thoroughly enjoyed this!

(+2)

Esskaden, our artist, showed me your comment and I laughed so hard reading the monster is capitalism. 🤣 Thank you for the praise! You're right on the nose for the plot and the direction we plan to go in for developing the full game.

(+1)

I instantly fell in love with the concept behind this game and you all really nailed it! Channel hopping to tell the story and build the world was such a good idea! The art was fantastic and creepy. It made me wary to sit in my own thinking chair! The song was delightful!

I got ending 2.

Great job everyone!

Thank you!! I impressed myself figuring out how to do overlays in Ren'py, especially during the splash screens. We're hoping to make new TV channels and make the buttons always work so you can truly channel surf post-jam!

I'm a sucker for a good menu; going straight into channel surfing from the main menu was such a playful way to begin.

Watching the hints and bits of different world-building accumulate as the story progressed had a satisfying feel to it, and the art direction was a cohesive combination of Saturday-morning cartoon(with very nostalgic weekday morning kids' show vibes) and gore-splattered horror!

(+1)

Thank you! We watched a ton of Y2k cartoons to achieve the tone.

What a wonderful game by some wonderful people! I loved all of characters and the depth of the story. I was throughly scared! You guys did such a wonderful job and I can’t wait to see more of this story and other ones you come up with! May GluGlu be with you.

(+1)

Thanks for streaming the game on Twitch! <3

(+2)

I love the story. I love interacting with the TV. I love all the sounds and the partial voice acting. I love how it is definitely creepy without making me want to run away.

The TV interface and aesthetics makes this game my personal favorite out of the Spooktober 2024 games I've played so far.

Is there currently only one ending?

(+1)

Hi! THANK YOU for the high praise!😃 Yes, there is only one ending for now because this is a demo and we (us 3 devs) are tired from the jam! We wanted feedback before we started making new TV channels, endings, and the TV mechanic more freestyle.

We're planning to make the TV buttons always active so that players can truly flip through channels to get our other planned endings.

(+2)

Oh my gosh, being able to flip through the channels sounds so exciting!!

I cannot wait to see the creative endeavors that come from this team!

I’ve always liked your animated UI design since Hear Me Hear You. Feels so lively. The art style on this is also very bold and distinct. Flat sprites against shaded backgrounds? So good.

Thank you for making sure the text is still easily read even in such a stylized presentation! I was initially worried it would be warped to match the TV. Nice job writing all those shows.

All in all, an interesting entry.

Thanks so much for the kind words! I really happy with how my art is blooming from game to game.

I'm so glad you liked it! 🤩 The text font and size were tricky to program. I kept going back and forth on one point size difference, so I'm glad it was easy to read!
